Terms of Service

1. You must be eighteen or older to be a member of Cipher. If you are seventeen years of age or under, it is illegal under United States law to view submissions rated R and NC-17. Cipher will not be held accountable for those who choose, having been warned, to disregard US law and COPPA guidance.
2. All information, fanfiction, original fiction, and poetry on Cipher remains the sole property of its creator. It may not be copied, distributed, or published, in whole or in part, without their express consent.
3. The administrators and validators of Cipher retain the exclusive right to accept or reject submissions at their discretion. Publication at Cipher is a privilege, not a right.
4. All authors who wish to submit to Cipher are expected to know and abide by the submission rules.
5. The views, opinions, and content expressed in Cipher’s fanfiction site are solely those of their author and do not reflect on Cipher’s administration, staff, host, programmers, or support.
6. Cipher will not be held liable for any damages resulting from the stories, information, and content we provide.
7. Cipher is a not-for-profit site and all fanfiction is archived for entertainment purposes only. All characters, details, and situations are the exclusive intellectual property of their respective creators, and no copyright infringement is intended.
8. Reading, reviewing, or joining Cipher constitutes an agreement to Cipher’s Terms of Service.

The following will result in disciplinary action and/or banning:

1. Uploading or posting spam or junk mail.
2. Obscene or abusive language and harassment in reviews, emails, author’s notes, forum posts, or through any other form of communication associated with Cipher.
3. Plagiarism.
4. Trolling and flaming in the forum.
5. Impersonating another member of Cipher.
6. Creation of multiple accounts without the permission of the administrators.
7. Content including child pornography, defined as images or depictions of characters below the age of consent. The administrators reserve the right to remove questionable content at their discretion.
